Most of our interior work happens in homes people are still living in, or in apartments that have to be back in service for guests by a fixed date. That changes how the job has to be run. The painting itself is the straightforward part; the difference between a good interior job and a bad one is almost entirely about protection, sequencing and clean-up.
We mask and sheet before anything is opened, we keep dust contained rather than letting it travel through the property, and we clear up at the end of every working day rather than at the end of the job. If you are abroad while the work happens, you get photographs each day showing exactly what was done.
What an interior job includes
- Furniture moved to the centre and sheeted, floors covered and edges taped
- Filling of nail holes, dents and settlement cracks, then sanding back flush
- Spot-priming of repairs and of any stains that would otherwise bleed through
- Two coats to walls and ceilings, cut in by hand at every edge
- Woodwork — skirting, architrave, doors and built-in wardrobes — sanded, primed and finished
- Dust control, with sanding taken outside or extracted at source wherever possible
- Daily clean-up and a tidy site every evening
- A walk-through with you at the end, and touch-ups done before we invoice

Common questions
How long does one room take?
A normal-sized bedroom usually takes two working days, including filling, sanding and two coats. A room that needs extensive repair, has a high or vaulted ceiling, or has a lot of built-in joinery will take longer, and we say so in the quote rather than discovering it halfway through.
Can we stay in the house while you work?
Almost always, yes. We work room by room, keep dust contained and leave the property clean and usable each evening. Kitchens and single-bathroom properties need a little planning, which we will talk through at the site visit.
Do you paint while we are abroad?
Yes, and a good part of our work is done for owners who are not in Spain at the time. We agree access arrangements in advance and send photographs at the end of each working day so you can see progress and raise anything immediately.
Do you use low-odour paint?
For occupied homes we default to low-VOC water-based products throughout, including on woodwork, where traditional oil-based gloss would leave a smell in the property for days.
Can you match a colour we already have?
Yes. If you have the original tin or code we work from that; if not, we can colour-match from a sample of the existing surface. Bear in mind that an old wall has faded, so an exact match to today’s colour will not match the colour it was originally.
